Abstract

The golf course is an area that has been modified with partially dredge topsoil and piled up the other partially it field. History of paddy land that was once cause impermeable layer on the ground, thus causing puddles and runoff during the rainy season. This research was conducted in Araya Megah Abadi Golf Malang on holes 10, 11, and 12. The variables measured in this study is texture, bulk density, porosity, and soil moisture. The research showed that topsoil thickness the holes 10, 11, and 12 are very various and dominated by thickness 0-10 cm and 11-20 cm. Domination texture of clay on the third hole can affect the rate of infiltration. The texture are dominated by a smooth texture that is clay, silty clay and silty clay loam. Bulk density is categorized as medium to high. Total porosity included in the unfavorable category up well. The measurements of infiltration on the hole 10, 11 and 12 has a category of very slow (<1 mm.h-1). Soil moisture on hole under lake water level is higher than soil moisture on top of lake water level. The conclusion of this research is the thickness of topsoil does not affect the infiltration rate but influenced by the characteristic physical properties such as water content.
